Global Life Expectancy GDP Data Science Exploration
This presentation explores how economic progress shapes people’s health, using the Gapminder dataset as a window into global change. Covering 142 countries from 1952 to 2007, the data tracks life expectancy, income per person, and population. Through interactive Plotly charts, including an animated bubble chart and continent-level trends, we look at how wealth and longevity are connected, which parts of the world have improved the most over the last 50 years, and whether the health divide between rich and poor countries has started to close.
NOAA Storm Data Analysis — Health & Economic Impact (1950–2011)
This analysis explores the NOAA Storm Database (1950–2011) to identify which severe weather events have the greatest impact on public health and economic losses across the United States. Using R and reproducible methods, the report shows how fatalities, injuries, property damage, and crop damage vary by event type. Results highlight that tornadoes are the most harmful to population health, while floods, hurricanes, and droughts dominate in terms of economic consequences.
