An interactive data storytelling study examining the relationship between first-preference votes and parliamentary seats in the state election of Victoria in 2022. Four interactive visualizations comparing electoral support, representation gaps, parliamentary composition, and party vote shares throughout the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council are presented in the study using official Victorian Electoral Commission data. The project, which was created with R and Plotly, demonstrates how various electoral systems affect political representation.
