Impact of Severe Weather Events on Public Health and Economy
This report analyzes the NOAA Storm Database to identify which weather events have the greatest impact on population health and economic damage in the United States. The analysis aggregates fatalities, injuries, property damage, and crop damage by event type. Results show that tornadoes are the most harmful to human health, while floods and hurricanes cause the greatest economic losses.
