An interactive data story about my walk home in Meadow Heights. As a new international student, I was followed by men with knives who demanded money. Using Crime Statistics Agency Victoria data (to June 2026), five linked charts test whether Hume is as dangerous as its reputation. Overall it ranks below the state average, but robbery and threatening behaviour run well above it.
