Parametric vs Non-Parametric
Parametric tests are statistical tests that make specific assumptions about the data. They assume the data follows a particular distribution, usually the normal distribution. Nonparametric tests are statistical tests that do not assume a specific distribution for the data. They are used when data do not meet the assumptions of parametric tests, like normality.

Education in statistics has similar concerns as does education in other mathematical sciences, like logic, mathematics, and computer science. At the same time, statistics is concerned with evidence-based reasoning, particularly with the analysis of data.
