Clinical Factors Associated with Diabetes: A Logistic Regression Analysis
This project presents a statistical analysis of the Pima Indians Diabetes Dataset, which contains clinical measurements from 768 female patients. The aim was to identify clinical variables independently associated with diabetes status.
The analysis includes data inspection and cleaning, assessment of variable distributions, non-parametric univariate comparisons between diabetic and non-diabetic groups, and multivariable logistic regression.
The final model identified : glucose, BMI, and age as independent predictors of diabetes, while blood pressure and insulin did not remain significant after adjustment for the other variables. Odds ratios and 95% confidence intervals were calculated and visualized to facilitate interpretation.
The project was conducted in "R using base R and ggplot2", with an emphasis on reproducible statistical analysis and interpretation of clinical data.
