This project forms part of the Google Data Analytics Capstone, applying the full data analysis process — Ask, Prepare, Process, Analyze, Share, and Act — to a unique dataset on South African Olympic weightlifting. The goal was to identify and rank the country’s best male and female weightlifters based on their Sinclair scores, while exploring performance trends across eras, weight classes, and lift ratios. By combining historical records with visual analytics in R, this study highlights South Africa’s weightlifting legacy and provides data-driven insights for coaches, athletes, and sport scientists.
