I independently conducted an exploratory data analysis of a Superstore retail dataset containing 9,994 transaction records and 21 variables using R. My work involved inspecting and preparing the data, checking for missing values and duplicate records, transforming date and categorical variables, and analysing sales, profitability and performance across years, product categories and geographical regions. Using R packages including dplyr, ggplot2 and lubridate, I performed data aggregation and created visualisations to communicate findings. The analysis identified total sales of approximately $2.30 million, total profit of $286,397 and an overall profit margin of 12.47%. It also revealed differences in profitability across product categories and regions, including losses in Texas despite relatively high sales. I interpreted the findings, developed recommendations for further investigation and documented the methods, results and visualisations in an R Markdown-based report. My role covered the entire analysis process, from data preparation and exploration to interpretation and reporting.
