Objective: This study aimed to measure the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) among dental students in a Spanish institution (Universidad CEU San Pablo) and explore associations between musculoskeletal disorder and physical activity, depression, and sleep. Methods: a cross-sectional study was conducted in the undergraduate population at Universidad CEU San Pablo from December 2024 to March 2025 using an self-administered online questionnaire. Instruments implemented include the Standardised Nordic Questionnaire (SNQ), International Physical Activity Questionnaire Short Form (IPAQ-SF), Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and Jenkins Sleep Scale (JSS). Descriptive statistics and Kendall’s tau correlation were used to analyze results. Results: Among 328 responses, the 12-month prevalence of MSD was 86%, and the 7-day prevalence was 57,9%. The most commonly affected regions within the past year were the neck, lower back, upper back and shoulders. Weak but significant positive correlations were found between MSD and depressive symptoms (τ = 0,21, p = <0,001), sleep (τ = 0,18, p = <0,001), and weekly workload (τ = 0,13, p = 0.03). No significant association was found between MSD and physical activity (τ = 0,06, p = 0.22). Conclusion: MSD is highly prevalent among dental students. Mental health, sleep quality, and combined workload appear to have small contributions to prevalence of MSD and disruption to daily activities.
