NOAA Storm Data Analysis: Health and Economic Impacts
This report analyzes the NOAA Storm Database (1950-2011) to identify storm event types most harmful to population health, with tornadoes causing 97,022 casualties, and those with the greatest economic impact, led by floods at $150.3 billion. Using R, the data was cleaned and visualized to provide insights for disaster preparedness. Includes three plots comparing health and economic consequences.
