This project examines how quarterback style—particularly the emergence of the dual-threat quarterback—relates to individual performance in college football. Using game- and season-level data from FBS quarterbacks, the analysis models passing QBR as a function of passing efficiency, rushing production, team context, and conference effects. A forward-selection regression framework is used to identify the most important contributors to quarterback performance while controlling for multicollinearity and influential observations. The results show that efficiency, decision-making, and situational rushing matter more than raw volume, and that quarterback style has an independent association with performance even after accounting for team quality.
